About the Master’s in Public Policy (MPP)
The Kautilya School attracts students from diverse educational backgrounds including social sciences, engineering, business, and sciences.
Students experience a rigorous, interdisciplinary curriculum that blends academic theory with practitioner insight.
MPP is a 2-year, full-time, 103-credit program across 6 terms. Students complete 24+ courses, an internship, and a capstone project for real-world policy exposure.

Program Structure
Students engage with a carefully structured curriculum that combines academic depth with real-world practice. The credit distribution is as follows:

The students undergo a compulsory 6–8 week internship at the end of their first year, followed by a 4–5 month-long Capstone Project (thesis), where they work closely with organizations in the policy sector to apply their academic knowledge in real-world contexts.
The curriculum also focuses on essential professional skills such as Data Visualization, Media Communication, Research Writing, Professional Writing & Communication, Negotiation, and Interpersonal Dynamics. These ensure holistic development and readiness for diverse policy roles.

Career Avenues After the MPP
Our program’s combination of academic rigour and on-ground experiences will give you the confidence to assume leadership in any career of your choice. Some of the popular avenues you can choose after your Master’s Program in Public Policy (MPP) include:
Private Sector
This includes business consultants, policy consultants of large corporations, policy analysts, think tanks and private policy implementation organisations. Courses on financial reporting, management, cyber security, etc. focus on these streams.
Public Service
This includes policy making and implementation, government roles, and political candidates, who can leverage subjects like politics, public policy design and analysis, ethics, constitution and law, political campaign management, etc.
