Exploring Political Empowerment and Governance of Scheduled Caste Representatives in Maharashtra Panchayats

Project Outline : This capstone explores the political empowerment and governance experiences of Scheduled Caste representatives in rural Maharashtra’s Panchayati Raj Institutions. Based on qualitative interviews in Latur and Nanded districts, it examines how political reservation influences participation, decision-making, and local governance. The capstone highlights the gap between formal inclusion and actual empowerment and offers recommendations to strengthen democratic participation and accountability.
