Caption :  This capstone examines how monitoring and evaluation (M&E) systems shape the work of Anganwadi Workers delivering Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) under the Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) in Maharashtra. Drawing on qualitative interviews with Anganwadi Workers and supervisors, it finds that administrative and data-related responsibilities often take priority over childcare and education. Workers respond through overtime and informal coping practices. This capstone highlights the need for context-sensitive monitoring systems that strengthen frontline service delivery while supporting professional discretion and improving ECCE outcomes.
